Beautiful and lively music is what Whidbey Strings loves to bring to special events. All three Whidbey Strings members have performed in churches, dance halls and performing arts centers all across the United States. We believe that having quality music is what makes an event special. True friendships run deep as does music. We look forward to working with you.




Elizabeth Lovelace grew up at The Cleveland Institute of Music. In 1984 she graduated as a Pressor Scholar,with a BFA from Colorado College. She received Suzuki Method Certification in 1990 and taught at the Suzuki Institure of Seattle for 6 years. Elizabeth has been teaching and performing for over 25 years. She presently lives on Whidbey Island and also performs with The Saratoga Chamber orchestra, Rendezvous jazz guitar/violin duo and Whidbey Strings.


Kat Fritz has been the principal violist for The Saratoga Chamber Orchestra since 2006. She is the founder and music director of the Whidbey Island Orchestras. She has performed in multiple quartets and Tango groups for the past 25 years. 


James Hinkley has performed with the Cleveland, Detroit, and Baton Rouge symphonies, and served as principal cello for the Lima Symphony, Cleveland Ballet, and the Ohio Light Opera. In 2005 he joined the Northwest jazz ensemble "Billet-Deux and currently lives on Whidbey Island where he is active as a teacher and performer in both classical and jazz idioms.
